The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Design Contest WIN 4000 POINTS, 20$ AND MORE!I've wanted to hold a design contest for a long time now, and finally I've gathered enough points to do it

What I'm looking for:
Everything! Wolves, foxes, fennec foxes, ferrets, servals, bobcats, tigers, other big cats, small cats, deers, dragons, gryphons, dogs, birds, hybrids, original species.. bring it!
I'm leaving the details to your imagination, but here are some things I really like:
-White base color with black and red markings<33 (mostly on canines)
-Cute and fluffy things! No need to go all big eyes and oversized heads, but animals with fur. Creepy and slimy things just aren't my thing.. Still don't be afraid to make something dark/evil
-Anything tribal
-Native american stuff
-Feathers!
-Tawny, golden, brown, white, red, blue, cyan, gray, black (well, not all combined)
-I like more natural base colors, but with smaller markings in unnatural colors like blue or red
-Long tails, big/long

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

So my computer just broke... and all the files on it are gone. We tried to save them, but when we did they got corrupted. So i lost all my stuff. Luckily a lot of the photos are on my camera still... and a lot of the art is on my PSP.... but I lost all the big colored versions of my art. I hate computers... You think all your stuff is safe, then for some unexplained reason your computer's hard drive goes bad. Cool right? Well... it'll be a few days until the tech will even be here... I might as well try and do something while I have no computer on my days off...

So if anything is expected of me... expect a delay. sorry :[ I plan on trying to get new external HD... but last time I had one of those, that broke too(With a lot of non replaceable personal photos too)... and they are expensive... so I don't even know.

I hate this...

And for those of you who don't know. All my cosplay stuff was stolen last year. someone broke into my car and took my suitcase right after being at a convention. So that's why I haven't posted photos of anything like that. Suuccckkss. I cant even afford the convention coming up anyways. So w/e. maybe next year I might have some spare money and can buy a cosplay.

On the upside... I can afford rent... have my own apartment... I have a great BF... and i'm not starving... and I have a job. Go me..... lol.

I'm gonna try and work on art and finish the star wars book I am reading while this is happening.

Every once in a while I burn everything to DVD storage and delete it from the drive. That way I have an archived copy.
