Daily Needs

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 18, 2010, 9:46 PM
Here’s my Daily Needs info:

You are a 20 year old man, 5ft 3in / 160cm tall, with a current weight of 130.0lbs. You lead a somewhat active lifestyle, and participate in the following exercise:
     30 minutes of   jog/walk combination
15 minutes of   rope jumping, slow (I did this for warm-up exercising)
480 minutes of   walking, <2.0 mph, level ground (I used this one for me working all day)

(This is all accurate for me, and to do yours go here: [link] BE HONEST- This will tell you all of these examples I am posting for myself.)

Body Mass Index (BMI)

My BMI
23.0

BMI is a standardized ratio of weight to height, and is often used as a general indicator of health. The "normal" BMI for an adult man of your height is 18.5 to 24.9. This translates to a healthy weight range of 104 to 141 lbs. However, BMI does not take body composition into account. A weight above this range could still be considered healthy if your percentage body fat is less than average. For more accurate determination of body fat levels, consider using a body fat caliper.

Calories Burned
Your Calories Burned
Daily Energy Expenditure: 2509 kcal ( 10505 kJ)
Additional Calories from Exercise: + 730.0 kcal ( 3056 kJ)

Estimated Energy Requirement:3239.0 kcal ( 13561 kJ)

What this is saying is I NEED to eat 2509 calories to live each day. Meaning I WONT gain weight if I stay under that.(But this is in a ‘somewhat active lifestyle’. Recalculate for days off work)

Here’s a calorie calculator for future use when you exercise. (You burn calories when you sleep, stand all day, etc.) [link]

Recommended Macro-nutrient Distribution (There’s a chart you can use to find foods in these ranges [link] Try to get as close as you can, I couldn’t find 65:35:35, I had to use: 50:20:30)

My Recommended Ranges
Carbohydrate: 45 to 65% of total Calories
Fat: 20 to 35% of total Calories
Protein: 10 to 35% of total Calories

The Calories burned is important to know how much you can eat in a day.

I've found, after going vegan, doesn't matter what I eat, I lose weight :3. Just a little helpful info in case you're interested~. I can stuff myself on cakes and cookies that I bake myself with vegan alternatives for the ingredients, and I still lose weight. And I'm by no means good at losing weight or something. I put on nearly 30 kilos from eating too much junk food, and even after I stopped with the junkfood but kept eating meat, eggs and dairy, I stayed at the same weight. Then go vegan, eating lots of delicious healthy things like lentils and in about 3 months I've lost 15 kilos. And that's with no exercise *is lazy*. So combine less animal products with exercise and you'll be robustly healthy! Yeah. I went vegan for the animal rights factor, the losing weight is a bonus XD.

But again, I'm wondering, would the websites here still be appropriate for my use (since I'm asian)... *shrugs* but it should be more or less alright eh~ hmmm~
